Assignments & video lessons

Assignments and online classes that keep learning going

Teachers set work for a class and subject, students hand it in online, and feedback goes out when it is ready. Recorded video lessons let learning carry on after the bell.

Why it matters

Homework that doesn't get lost between school and home

One place for setting, submitting, grading and following up on classwork and homework.

  • Eight assignment types

Homework, classwork, projects, research, practicals, quizzes, reading and more, each aimed at a class or arm and subject.

  • Clear rules up front

Set a due date and maximum marks, and decide whether late submissions, resubmissions and extra attempts are allowed.

  • Online submissions

Students upload a PDF of up to 10 MB with an optional written answer, from any browser.

  • Grade, then release

Grade in decimals, download submitted files and release feedback when you are ready, not before.

  • Video lessons

Post recorded lessons for a class and subject. YouTube and Vimeo links play right inside the portal.

  • Parents can follow along

Parents get a read-only view of their child's assignments and can see the video lessons posted for their class.

How it works

How assignments work in TapEdu

From the teacher's draft to feedback in the student's portal.

  1. Step 1: Create and publish

Pick a type, class or arm and subject, add instructions, a due date and marks, and publish when ready. Students never see drafts.

  2. Step 2: Students submit

Students get an in-app notification, then submit a PDF and an optional text answer within your late and attempt rules.

  3. Step 3: Grade and give feedback

Download submissions, enter grades and release feedback. Students are notified in the app when their work is graded.

  4. Step 4: Teach beyond the classroom

Post video lessons for the class; students watch them in their portal and parents can see what was shared.
